[REVIEW: solicitor — placeholder, not final]
Terms of Use
The terms on which you may use this website. These are separate from any commercial agreement we enter into with the creators we work with.
Last updated: 2026. These terms are provided as a placeholder pending review by a qualified solicitor.
1. About these terms
These terms of use govern your access to and use of the Understudy website at understudy.uk (the "site"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These website terms do not form part of, and are separate from, any commercial agreement we may enter into with a creator.
2. Who we are
The site is operated by Understudy ("we", "us", "our"), the operating company behind the creator. You can reach us through our contact page.
3. Using the site
You may use the site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- use the site in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or connected systems;
- introduce malicious code or otherwise interfere with the site's operation; or
- scrape, copy or reproduce the site's content other than as permitted below.
4. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, all content on this site — including text, design, branding, graphics and layout — is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not reproduce, distribute or exploit any part of the site commercially without our prior written permission.
5. Forms and submissions
When you submit information through our contact or application forms, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are entitled to share it. We handle the data you submit in line with our Privacy Policy. Submitting a form does not create any obligation on us to work with you, and does not by itself create a contract.
6. Our commercial model
Descriptions of how we work on this site — including the "no upfront, revenue share, you keep ownership" model — are a summary for information only. The binding terms of any working relationship are set out in a separate written agreement. Where this site and that agreement differ, the signed agreement prevails.
7. No reliance on content
The content on this site is provided for general information. While we take care to keep it accurate, we make no representations or warranties that it is complete or up to date, and it should not be relied upon as professional advice. Any figures presented are drawn from public-data synthesis and cited as such; they are not a forecast of results for any individual creator.
8. Third-party links
The site may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content of those sites. A link does not imply our endorsement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
10. Availability
We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or change all or any part of the site without notice.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
12. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time. The "last updated" date above shows when they last changed. By continuing to use the site after a change, you accept the revised terms.
